A group of the most vocal women in Kitui County; Wamama Na Uhuruto Trust, today congratulated his Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta and Hon. Raila Odinga for reaching out to each other for the sake of the country’s unity.

Led by their chairperson Hon. Esther Kalunda Ndile, MCA Kitui County Assembly and Vice-Chairperson County Assemblies Forum (CAF), the women leaders termed the gesture of unity by NASA and Jubilee as proof that Kenya is bigger than any single individual. Speaking today in a press briefing held at the Kiembeni County Resort, Kitui Town; Hon. Ndile announced that Wamama Na Uhuruto Kitui Chapter members were in full support of the Deputy President Hon. William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

“We promise and commit to rally our supporters behind the deputy president’s candidature for 2022,” stated the chairlady. “Wamama na Uhuruto vow to fully back Hon. William Ruto for the country’s top seat come 2022.”

The women leaders also appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee administration to ensure that Kitui County gets its fair distribution of resources. They expressed confidence in the Jubilee administration, pointing out that out of the three Ukambani counties Kitui County stood out in giving unwavering support for the reelection of the Jubilee government to office. The leaders implored Jubilee to consider more appointments into the government as a gift pack to the Kitui residents for their outstanding loyalty.

Responding to the issue of Moses Wetangula, Hon. Esther Ndile pointed out that what Kenya needs right now is unity. She expressed confidence in the mechanisms NASA has put in place for achieving that peace and unity.

“If there are elements in NASA who are against the unification of this great nation, then it is for the best that such people don’t hold positions of leadership,” Hon. Ndile said in her parting shot. “Such people are enemies of the republic of Kenya and want to keep dragging Kenyans back to the dark ages of hatred and tribal animosity.”
