Jubilee government has evidently snubbed the late Kitui West mp’s funeral service. The former National Assembly minority leader and Kitui West mp Hon Francis Nyenze is being laid to rest today at his rural home in Kyondoni Village, Kitui West Sub-county. According to the guest-list disclosed to the Kitui Newspaper, the deputy president William Ruto was expected to attend the event, which later was communicated to be represented by the Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko. But with the event almost concluding, neither of the two has showed up.
The NASA Principals Hon Raila, Wetangula, Muthama, and Mudavadi graced the event, but the absence of Hon Stephen Kalonzo loudly resonated in the massively attented event. The Speaker National Assembly Hon. Justice Muturi, the Kitui County governor Hon Charity Ngilu, women rep Hon Dr Irene Kasalu, various MPs, former and current senators, local MCAs, and local leaders came to pay their last respects to the late Francis Nyenze.
From the sentiments expressed in the leaders’ speeches, there is a likely possibility of NASA nominating the late mp’s wife Mrs Edith Nyenze to defend the Kitui West parliamentary seat in the upcoming by-elections.
