Over ten people are feared dead in a grizzly accident involving a Kitui-bound matatu and a lorry. The accident involving a 14-seater Nissan psv,registration number KCG 851L, operated by Kinatwa Sacco and a Mitsubishi Canter lorry occured in Kilimambogo along the Thika-Matuu road. The two vehicles are reported to have collided head-on.
The total number of casualties is yet to be officially reported, but an eye witness expressed fears that the number of those dead might be close to fifteen, as only three people have been rescued alive so far. The survivors have been rushed to Thika Memorial Hospital in critical conditions. The rescue operations are still underway.
