Mwingi West MP is the champion of the just concluded East African Parliamentary games. Hon. Charles Ngusya Nguna excelled over all East African Parliamentary athletes to win three medals for Kenya in the regional competitions that ended yesterday: two gold medals in the 400 metres and 4 by 400 metres relay, and a silver medal in 200 metres.
“I thank God for enabling me to win three medals,” said the soft-spoken athlete legislator in an exclusive interview with Kitui Newspaper, “It was quite competitive but I did my best!”
The young MP left the country for the East African Parliamentary games on 1st December. The East African Parliamentary games, which were held in Tanzania, come to a climax today with the medal-award gala.
Hon. Charles Nguna, popularly known as CNN, was taking part in the 200M, 400M, and 800M races. He was also part of the relay runners and volleyball team.
“I will start a constituency level sports fete to grow the young talents in soccer, volleyball and athletics and mentor our youth to greater heights,” Hon. Nguna confided how he plans to celebrate his victory with his constituents.
